T Mobile gets Hacked (Once again)

Mobile communication company ‘T-Mobile’ on Thursday admitted in an online message that it suffered a massive data breach involving 37 million customer accounts. According to this online message, the unidentified hackers have managed to steal information including customer names, billing addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, account numbers and other information. However, the German based mobile carrier said that “the most sensitive types of customer information” including passwords, payment card information and social security numbers have not been compromised. This is the second time in last two years that hackers have attacked T Mobile, raising concerns about T Mobile’s data security.

Netflix’s long-time CEO Hastings Steps Down

Netflix has rejigged its top management team as its CO-CEO Reed Hastings announced on Thursday that he is stepping down. The departure of Hastings, who has remained at the helm of the company for nearly two decades, has come a shocker for most people. Since 2020 Hastings shared the role of CEO alongside Ted Sarandos, who previously oversaw the content work at Netflix. Hastings will continue to serve as a executive chairman at the company board after his departure from the CEO role. This move has come a time when the streaming giant is weathering a rough storm due to sluggish growth in its subscriber numbers.

Microsoft is likely to soon hand pink-slips to 11,000 Employees

Tech giant Microsoft is all set to announce sweeping layoffs probably in next week, which is likely to impact as many as 11,000 employees. However, Microsoft hasn’t confirmed about exactly how many people are likely to be affected by the latest layoff. If the tech giant does churn out 11,000 employees then this will be second biggest layoff in Microsoft’s history. Microsoft had removed 18,000 employees back in 2014, when the newly promoted CEO Nadella had decided to scale down the Nokia’s hardware business. The latest layoffs, by the way, is likely to have most impact on the HR and engineering department.

GoMechanic admits Financial Malpractices, sacks 70% employees

Auto after-sales service startup GoMechanic admitted on Wednesday on professional network platform LinkedIn that the company deliberately committed errors in the financial reporting, citing that the company got “carried away” in a desperate attempt to explore growth opportunities. As part of the retribution, the company has ordered a forensic audit and a business restructuring, the latter will result in sacking of 7,000 employees. GoMechanic had raised $42 Mn nearly two years back and was backed by marquee investors including Sequoia Capital and Tiger Global. GoMechanic now joins the list of disgraced high-profile startups who have been found of cooking up their books and misleading the investors.

Trump hints about possible comeback on Facebook and Instagram

Nearly after two years Facebook and Instagram banned Donald Trump for inciting violence, the former US President may likely to make a comeback soon on the Meta owned platforms. While speaking to Fox News Digital on Wednesday that his campaign team is holding in talks with Meta for a possible return to Facebook and Instagram. Trump said “if they took us back, it would help them greatly” in his bid to regain the presidency in 2024. According to media reports, Meta will make a final decision to whether or not to reinstate Trump’s account by end of this month. Meanwhile, Trump continues to boycott Twitter despite the latter’s decision to restore his account in November last year.
