Mumbai based Edutech startup Lattu Kids announced on Wednesday that it has received seed funding round from Mumbai Angels. This new fund raising round has come nearly four months after Airtel picked 10% stake in Lattu Kids. The telecom giant had invested in the Mumbai based startup via its Airtel Startup Accelerator Program.
Lattu Kids so far has not disclosed ay financial details about this deal.
Commenting about the latest fund raising, Lattu Kids’ founder & CEO Vivek Bhutyani said “With Mumbai Angels investors partnering with us, Lattu Kids will invest in hiring talent around product, curriculum and technology. With Airtel Accelerator’s steadfast support, we are confident to succeed in this market.”
Nandini Mansinghka, Co-promoter and CEO, Mumbai Angels, said: “We are excited to welcome Lattu Kids to our portfolio. They have built a strong English language foundation of listening, speaking, reading and comprehension skills with the help of fun learning animation videos for kids, which prepares the child for elementary schooling. Especially in the current COVID times, this app is all what parents need for their children.”
According to the statement released by the company, Airtel is already collaborating with Lattu Kids to take its content deeper and wider through its robust digital platforms that have over 160 Mn MAUs (monthly active users).
Lattu Kids basically specializes in creating digital learning tools for children. Its popular Lattu Kids app focuses on improving English vocabulary, English reading and Maths foundation skills for kids under the age group of 10.
However rather than taking traditional methods, this startup seeks to impart knowledge through entertaining, fun learning animated videos and games.
Clarifying as to why Lattu Kids is purely focused on imparting knowledge to young kids, Bhutyani argues that “early foundational learning is the most overlooked category in education across India. It however sets the foundation of how well the child will perform in primary and higher secondary. One of the main reasons’ parents love Lattu Kids is because of our unique approach to learning by use of contextual animation videos and learning gamification. “
