Amazon has launched yet another AI assistant but its latest AI assistant is dedicated towards sellers and not buyers. Code-named Project Amelia and powered by Amazon’s AWS Bedrock, it will be available to only select US sellers. Project Amelia has been designed to help sellers manage their day-to-day business and also help them to put their business on the growth path. They can extract valuable information like how many units have been sold during a particular period or how much was the traffic on the website during the specific month. Sellers can even compare these and other metrics during the same period last year. Additionally, they can even ask follow up questions.

Alibaba releases over 100 AI models from its Qwen 2.5 family

China’s tech giant Alibaba on Thursday took a giant leap in the AI race by unveiling over 100 AI models in a single day. All the models are open-source models and come from Alibaba Qwen 2.5 family, which is the latest version of Qwen LMM that was launched last year . The size of these models ranges from 0.5 to 72 billion parameter. These models can be used across different businesses and industries, ranging from auto industry to gaming and scientific research. It is proficient and well equipped in coding, performing mathematical task and supports over 29 languages, the Hangzhou headquartered company said. Separately, Alibaba on Thursday also launched a new text-to-image model as part of its Tongy Wanxiang family.

OpenAI’s o1 AI model is now widely available for enterprises and educational institutes

OpenAI’s newly launched reasoning focused models, o1 Preview and o1 mini, are now widely available for enterprises and educational institutes. Starting from today, ChatGPT Enterprise and ChatGPT Edu can log-in into their accounts for using these models. Given its special ability in handling complex reasoning tasks, the models can be immensely useful for organizations and educational institutes considering that they often come across challenging tasks, from advanced coding to scientific research. With o1 expanding to enterprise space, the enterprise market has become highly competitive, especially after OpenAI’s rival Anthropic recently launched its own enterprise focused model Claude Enterprise, offering a whopping 5,00,000 token content windows.

Google Passkeys can now sync multiple devices

You can now use Google Passkeys in non-android devices as well, after Google on Thursday announced that it is updating its Google Password Manager. Apart from Android devices,  you can now use passkeys in Windows, Linux and MacOS while Chromeos is currently being beta tested. The search giant also specifically stated that the IOS support is arriving soon. For all those who are not aware, passkeys are different than your traditional passwords. It is a digital credential that use biometric data like finger print or facial scan to login into your account. Passkeys are widely considered to be safer than traditional passwords.
