YouTube is cracking down on sneaky ways to access cheap premium plans

YouTube has decided to take stern action against users using unfair methods like using VPN to access cheap premium plans in other countries. This has come to light after several users took to Reddit to vent their frustration after their premium plans were cancelled for using VPN to buy cheap premium plans outside their designated countries. According to TechCruch, YouTube has apparently found a way to detect when the user is providing false information about their signup country. In such a case, YouTube’s system prompts the concerned user to update his or her billing information. This crackdown has come barely a year after the Google owned streaming giant increased the price of premium subscription for the US subscribers.
