Since the past few months there have been strong rumors about Apple working on a mysterious EV car project, which in the future will supposedly compete with Elon Musk’s Tesla. Now the buzz is that Apple has hired a long time Ford executive Desi Ukashevic to look after its electric car project. According to reports, the tech giant is hopeful that the Ford executive will help its EV car project in overcoming key regulatory hurdles. This car project has been perhaps Apple’s most secretive project till date. The tech giant has been reportedly working on this project since 2014 but the media came to know about this project only last year.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta plans to go slow on hiring due to weak revenue forecast

Facebook’s parent company Meta plans to cut-down on its hiring and recruitment due to weak revenue forecasts. According to CNBC, the Mark Zuckerberg led company wants to slow down the hiring of mid-level and senior level professionals. However, the company has said that it will fill up all the important vacancies for its important projects including its much hyped up Metaverse project. Meta had declared the first quarter result of 2022 barely a week ago, declaring a revenue of $27Bn, which is an increase of 7% on yearly basis. This is Meta’s slowest revenue growth in a decade.

Starbucks forays into NFT space, plans to launch NFT collection later this year

Popular coffee chain Starbucks is all set to enter into the NFT space, which will happen later this year. The coffee chain company said that its NFT collection will be based on Web 3.0 and might use multi blockchain platforms to launch its digital collection. Starbucks has said that customers buying NFTs will get access to a special content experience and other benefits. Before Starbucks, other big brands that have entered the NFT space include Adidas, Nike, Coca Cola, Samsung, Pepsi and many other brands.

Twitter’s Decentralized arm, Bluesky, releases its first code

Twitter’s decentralized and open-source offshoot, Bluesky, has just released its first-ever code. The code is available on GitHub for developers to test. The Bluesky project was incorporated in 2019 when Jack Dorsey was still the company’s CEO but it got incorporated only this year. Notably, things like decentralization and open source have assumed great importance after Elon Musk bought the microblogging company for $44 Bn. While buying Twitter, Musk had said that he wants Twitter to have an open source algorithm for prompting free speech.

Elon Musk briefly changes his Twitter profile to Bored Ape NFTs

Elon Musk, the soon to be new owner of Twitter, briefly changed his Twitter profile on Thursday to Bored Ape NFTs. As soon as Musk uploaded the new Twitter avatar, the price of Bored Ape NFTs in the NFT marketplace increased substantially. Even the price of ApeCoin, the cryptocurrency created by the creator of Bored Ape NFTs Yuga Labs, increased sporadically on Wednesday. For all those who don’t know, Bored Ape NFTs is among the most popular NFTs in the world and costs few thousand dollars per NFT.
