Apple’s much hyped up and native AI system ‘Apple Intelligence’ is likely to start popping up iPhone 16 and other Apple devices from October 28, according to Bloomberg. Its launch is likely to coincide with IOS 18.1 update. Apple Intelligence comes with slew of AI features that aims add lot of value to Apple users. This includes text editor and summarization tool, writing tools, smart audio recording and transcription for mail, notes, pages and other apps. It also offers several photo editing features along with customized emoji feature.  In a separate news, reports claim that Apple’s revamped Mac Mini and iPad Mini could arrive in US market from first week of November.

Meta enters AI video battle with ‘Movie Gen’ AI Model

The competition in the AI video generation space is all set to reach an insane level after Meta on Friday launched Movie Gen. Movie Gen is Meta’s new family of multimodal LLMs that can generate videos and audios with simple text prompts. Apart from this, it allows you to customize your own videos by adding special effects, props, costumes and changing select elements. Currently, it can create only 16-second-long video and won’t be publicly available until 2025. Its access is currently limited to few internal employees and external partners. Movie Gen will be competing with the likes of Runway, Luma AI, Midjourney and Stability AI.

Android has started rolling out theft detection features for select users

Google’s new theft protection features, which was showcased at Google’s I/O event earlier this year, have started reportedly rolling out for certain android users. It has showed up on Xiaomi 14 T Pro and few Pixel models, according to the reports. The theft protection features automatically triggers when it senses an act of snatching. In such an event, it will lock your phone’s screen so that thieves are unable to access any sensitive information in your phone. The theft detection comes with three features – Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock and Remote Lock. Each of these three features provide unique protection but is ultimately aimed towards securing your phone’s critical data in the case of theft.

Audio AI startup ‘Eleven Labs’ in talks to raise fresh funds from VCs

Audio AI startup Eleven Labs, which is known for generating synthetic voices for various applications, is reportedly in talks with several investors to raise fresh funds at a valuation of $3 Bn.  According to TechCrunch, Investors are especially impressed with its ARR (Annualized Recurring Revenue) growth, growing from the modest $25 Mn by end of the last year to $80 Mn in recent months. The identity of the investors could not be ascertained, while participation of some of the existing investors cannot be ruled out. Eleven Labs had last raised funds as part of Seres B in January this year.
