Apple Vision Pro will launch in February (It’s Official)

Ending the rumours for once and all, Apple on Monday announced that its much-awaited Vision Pro headset will start shipping on February 2nd in the United States. The pre-order will start from January 19th. The base model of Apple Vision Pro offers 256 GB of storage space and is priced at $3,499. Apple will be offering demos of Vision Pro to customers at its US retail stores on first-come, first served basis. The Vision Pro headset is probably Apple’s most ambitious product launch since the launch of iconic iPhone in 2007. The tech giant would be hoping that Vision Pro turns out to be as successful as iPhone.

The company has just launched a new service called Generative AI by iStock, which is a text-to-image generation tool. To use this service, Getty users will have to simply type text prompts and this tool will generate unique and high-quality images instantly. Generative AI by iStock has been powered by NVIDIA’s Picasso platform. Getty is the largest supplier of stock images in the world and the company believes that this new tool will open up a vast new realm of visual possibilities for designers, marketers, and content creators.

OpenAI accuses New York Times of misleading ChatGPT

Through its latest official blog post, OpenAI has officially responded to the recent class lawsuit filed by The New York Times over copyright infringement. OpenAI has accused New York Times or NYT of misleading their AI algorithm into copying articles during its training process. OpenAI further claimed that the NYT did not properly mark these articles as protected, potentially confusing ChatGPT into thinking they were freely available for copying. NYT, on other hand, has denied that it intentionally tried to mislead ChatGPT or OpenAI. It has argued that OpenAI had a responsibility to verify the copyright status of any content before using it in their training data.

Volkswagen is adding ChatGPT to its cars

Volkswagen has announced at the CES 2024 event that it will be integrating ChatGPT, the popular AI chatbot, into their cars starting in the second quarter of this year. ChatGPT will be integrated with Volkswagen’s existing voice assistant, IDA, giving it a major boost in capabilities. For instance, ChatGPT will be able to access real-time traffic data and suggest the best route to your destination. It can also act as personalized infotainment by recommending music, podcasts, or audiobooks based on the preferences of Volkswagen car owners. While adding ChatGPT is a great thing, Volkswagen has assured that it has taken all the steps to address the privacy concerns of all its users.

Former Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal’s AI startup has reportedly raised $30 million in a funding round led by Khosla Ventures. The details of Agrawal’s AI startup are still scarce, but it is reportedly focused on natural language processing. Agrawal was fired by Elon Musk after Musk’s acquisition of Twitter in late 2022.
