Microsoft acquires video editing software ClipChamp  

Microsoft has announced that it has acquired ClipChamp for undisclosed amount. ClipChamp is a startup that provides easy to use video editing software to people and corporates alike. Microsoft is likely to integrate ClipChamp to its Office 365 software Notably, Microsoft had recently increased the subscription prices of Office 365 on the pretext that it will soon ramp up its product offerings. ‘Buy Now, Pay later’ space heats up after PayPal’s $2.6 Bn deal in Japan  

Pandemic has fueled the unprecedented growth of Buy now, Pay Later or BNPL market. Keeping this in mind, PayPal has just acquired Japanese BNPL startup Paidy for $2.7 Bn. The deal is largely a cash deal, according to reports. The acquisition deal will give PayPal, which is already a leader in the BNPL category, an unfettered access to the Japanese market. This development comes barely a month after American fintech company Square Inc bought Australian BNPL company Afterpay for whopping $29 Bn.
