Online Milk and grocery delivery startup DailyNinja seems to be on a roll to expand its business further. Weeks after raising $3 million in a fundraising round led by Saama Capital, it has now acquired 4amShop. Like DailyNinja, 4amshop also deals in delivery of milk and other early morning groceries. The acquisition deal is reportedly an all cash deal, but exact value of the deal has not been disclosed.
The acquisition will most probably help DailyNinja in consolidating its base in Hyderabad & its neighboring cities, a market where 4amshop has a strong presence. Following the acquisition, all 2000 customers of 4amshop will now be handled by DailyNinja.
Currently, DailyNinja offers most of its delivery services across Bengaluru and few other cities. However, the startup has already made it clear that it has all the intentions to grow its business across India.
Many big Players Evidently want to cash on Milk Business
Milk business happens to be very big business and this realization seems to have dawned many of the big players. No one less than Kishore Biyani, founder and CEO of Future Groups, has decided to make a foray into milk and grocery delivery business. Media reports claimed that the retail company has already started working on a full swing to mark its debut in mik delivery business.
Separately, other high profile startups like Swiggy and Alibaba backed BigBasket are said to be seriously planning to expand their business into milk delivery space. If reports are to be believed then both startups are planning to enter in the space through inorganic route and have already held talks with several startups.
Few months backs reports were rife that BigBasket had started talks with DailyNinja for an acquisition deal, but so far nothing has been finalized. Both BigBasket and DailyNinja have refused to comment on these reports.
