According to people privy to the matter, tech billionaire Elon Musk had recently called on AI researchers to form a new research lab. The ultimate aim of this new research lab is to work on the alternative of ChatGPT. However, currently not much information is known about this research lab. Even Musk, who is otherwise known for his outspoken nature, has remained completely tightlipped about the research lab. Not many people are aware that Musk was one of the co-founder of OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. However, the Tesla and SpaceX’s CEO resigned from the company in 2018.

ChatGPT, the popular chatbot that has taken the online world by frenzy, is facing outage issue worldwide during past few hours. ChatGPT’s parent company OpenAI has also confirmed the outage issue. According to DownDetector, users are unable to access ChatGPT in countries like the U.S, Europe, Japan, Australia and other parts of the world. The latest update is that the OpenAI has officially confirmed that the issue has been fixed and users across the world are now able to access the popular chatbot tool. Owing to ChatGPT’s massive popularity, millions of users’ flock to the popular online chatbot platform for instantly resolving their queries and getting quick answers on various issues.

Snapchat rolls out AI chatbot powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT

The multimedia instant messaging app SnapChat has become the latest social media tech company to join the AI chatbot bandwagon. The company on Monday announced the launch of its brand-new AI chatbot called ‘MY AI.’ Available as an experimental feature on company’s paid subscription service Snapchat+, the company claims that MY AI has been trained to resolve many queries and provide instant answers. For instance, the company added that it can answer trivia questions and recommend birthday gifts for your BFF. SnapChat’s MY AI has been powered by OpenAI, the parent company behind generative chatbot tool ChatGPT. The company has still not commented when it plans to launch this feature on a full-fledge basis.

Canada is banning TikTok from government devices

 

After the U.S. and European Union, it is Canada’s turn to turn the screws on popular Chinese video sharing app TikTok.  According to the media reports, the Canadian government has issued a memo saying that the TikTok app will be automatically removed and blocked from all the government issued mobile devices. As per this memo, the Canadian government has signaled out TIKTok’s data collection method for making the users data vulnerable to potential cyber-attack. Back in the U.S., TikTok has been facing increased scrutiny for allegedly sharing the data of American consumers with ByteDance employees residing in China. However, ByteDance has repeatedly refuted all these allegations.

Waymo begins autonomous testing in LA without Human Driver

Waymo, which is backed by Google’s parent company Alphabet, has now started testing fully autonomous vehicle (no human driver) in Los Angeles. In October last year, the company had done a similar testing in Phoenix and San Francisco. However, Waymo has categorically stated that it will have to do more rigorous testing before it launches the service to general public. Driverless technology is still in nascent stage and many companies including Elon Musk’s Tesla are trying their lick in the field.
