Elon Musk Warns about Starlink satellites’ Safety on Twitter

On Wednesday, Elon Musk expressed his open fear on Twitter that Starlink systems might possibly be targeted by the Russian army. Musk wrote on Twitter that “Starlink is the only non-Russian communications system still working in some parts of Ukraine, so probability of being targeted is high. Please use with caution.”

Musk’s open warning about Starlink Satellites has come barely few days after his company SpaceX decided to activate Starlink Broadband internet services across Ukraine. SpaceX’s CEO took this bold step after a Ukrainian minister tweeted to Musk asking for help in activating Starlink satellite services in Ukraine and help the country in fighting against the Russian invasion. Musk’s decision was widely lauded by netizens across the entire online world.

Musk’s latest warning about Starlink satellite’s safety appears pretty ambiguous. Many of Musk’s followers couldn’t help but point out this ambiguity, arguing whether Musk believes that Starlink satellites will be targeted with Russian missiles. Some of his followers even doubted that such a thig is even possible, almost mocking at such a proposition.

But one person possibly got it right about what really Musk meant by ‘Starlink satellites will be targeted.’

Edd Jordan tweeted “he means people on the ground being triangulated from the signal being received by starlink dishes nothing to do with the satellites.”

Another Twitterati claimed that Musk is probably hinting towards possible cyberattack on Starlink  services.

The cyberattack theory was actually right as Musk much earlier on Wednesday had tweeted about how American tech company Viasat’s terminals were permanently rendered useless due to Russian cyber-attack.

Musk had supposedly tweeted this much earlier than his tweet that warned about the safety of Starlink satellites.

Separately, many Twitterati also doubted about the efficiency of Starlink’s internet services in Ukraine.

While Musk is helping Ukraine by providing much needed satellite internet services, other big American companies are helping the war-torn country by trying to Isolate Russia. Apple stopped the sale of all its products in Russia, while Google, Twitter and Meta have announced wide spread censorship against Russia.
