Europe is developing a Hack-Proof Quantum Internet

An ambitious yet vital project is underway in Europe that will change the face of the internet by 2020, if successful. Researchers at QuTech in the Netherlands are working on a quantum internet development that will make the internet hack proof. The core idea is to build an infrastructure that will harness the quantum mechanics creating an uninterrupted network of communication free of any loopholes that hackers exploit. If this new technology succeeds then it will be comparable to Arpanet, the source of the internet that came to us through the U.S. Department of Defence in the 60’s.

Former CEO of Oculus Leaving Facebook

Brendan Iribe, the former CEO and co-founder of Oculus has announced his resignation from Facebook, according to Techcrunch sources. Brendan Iribe’s resignation comes after the cancellation of ‘Rift 2’ headsets. The latest exodus from Facebook of startup CEO’s has marked a trend. Just a month ago the Instagram co-founders too left Facebook citing mounting pressures. Also, WhatsApp co-founder too left the company a year ago. Oculus was acquired by Facebook for $2 billion in 2014.

Chinese Censorship for Blockchain Soon

Soon, the blockchain users in China will need to compulsorily attach their Government ID’s and real name if they want to use blockchain technology. The Cyberspace Administration of China has proposed a draft on regulating blockchain users and if it becomes law there will be no anonymity left in blockchain technology. This new draft comes after the blanket ban on cryptocurrencies that killed the crypto-coin exchanges in China, back in 2017.

Google News Costs $385 for some Unexpected Users

As early as June, Google News users have reported an excessive amount of mobile background data usage by the app. The users have reported this unusual problem on Google News Help Forum. This issue was acknowledged back in September and a spokesperson confirmed that Google is working on a fix. But, the users’ complaints are still mounting up with no solution in sight from Google. Some users were charged for mobile data despite the Wi-Fi selection and some have been charged for 24gb of mobile data amounting to $385.

EU Copyright Law can Dent YouTube Profits

The new EU copyright law can end the journey for YouTube in Europe if it comes into law. YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki has warned against this new legislation. According to the CEO, it will hamper the core business of the online video platform. The wording in article 13 of this new legislation attacks the ability of users to upload content on YouTube also, it restricts the option of watching live streaming of programs on YouTube. According to Susan Wojcicki, it will affect thousands, if not millions of people who directly or indirectly work with YouTube in Europe.

Paytm CEO Vijay Shekar Blackmailed by his own Employees for INR 20 Crore

Paytm CEO Vijay Shekar Sharma was blackmailed by two of his own employees for INR 20 crore. Sharma’s Secretary and Corporate Communication VP, Sonia Dhawan is been arrested as the accused mastermind behind this plan. Her husband along with another employee of Paytm has been arrested in this case. This is not the first time that Paytm employees have been involved in serious criminal cases. Earlier this year, a former Paytm employee was caught cheating the firm with fake employee ID’s.
