Files are disappearing from Google Drive – Google to investigate the matter
Google is currently investigating reports of files disappearing from Google Drives. The search engine giant has confirmed that the issue has been caused by the Google Drive desktop app. The company has requested the users that until the issue is fixed they should preferably pause syncing their Drive files to their computers. This problem came to the light when several users during past few weeks noticed that months and even years of files have gone missing from the drive. However, Google has assured the users that missing files are not actually deleted from Google Drive, but they are not syncing properly with the desktop app.

AWS launches Amazon Workspace for Virtual Desktop Access
Amazon Web Services has launched a new hardware product called Amazon Workspaces Thin Client, a compact computer that enables users to remotely access their virtual desktops hosted on AWS WorkSpaces. Amazon Workspace comes with number of key features like dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity, optional wired Ethernet connectivity and Integrated speakers and microphone. Amazon claims that this compact computer also comes with enhanced security as it includes security features like hardware-based encryption and secure boot. This device is certainly more affordable alternative to traditional desktop computers, especially when considering the reduced IT costs. The Amazon WorkSpaces Thin Client is currently available for purchase only in the United States, with availability in other countries expected in early 2024.

YouTube launches Playable Gaming feature with over 30 games
YouTube is expanding its gaming section with the launch of new feature ‘Playables’ on YouTube Premium. With Playables, YouTube Premium users can now play games directly within the YouTube app. Users don’t have to download or install anything for playing games. Playables will include wide-range of games like casual arcade games, puzzle games and many more RPG games. These games will be available through a dedicated Playables page on the YouTube app. YouTube is also in talks with several gaming companies to bring more games into the platform. This feature will be initially in a limited beta before making available to wider public in the later months.

Elon Musk visits Israel amid antisemitism row
Elon Musk is currently on a short visit to Israel. Although Musk is currently in Israel to reportedly attend a tech conference, his visit comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding antisemitism content on his social media platform X. During his visit, Musk met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with both reportedly raising concerns over the spread of antisemitism on ‘X.’ Musk also visited the Israeli town of kibbutz that had been recently targeted by Hamas militants, which eventually triggered the ongoing military confrontation between Israel and Hamas. According to reports, Musk has assured Netanyahu that he would soon allow Israeli military to access the Starlink’s satellite internet services in its ongoing war against Hamas.
