Global Internet Outage, What’s Going On?
Major sites such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Gmail were all glitchy yesterday and some continue to face issues. In fact, many users aren’t able to access their profile on Instagram yet. Many also complained about erratic file uploading on Gmail. It seems that the internet outage was linked somehow across the globe, all at the same time. The internet isn’t down for everyone, but users are selectively affected by it. Facebook in a post acknowledged the issue. A similar outage was experienced back in 2016. These kinds of attack are known as distributed denial of service attack. The attack overloads the internet servers and disturbs its functioning, affecting sites like Facebook and Whatsapp.

Swipe Left on Twitter, Now Its Like Instagram
Twitter is updating features in its app to resemble like Instagram and Snapchat. You can access the camera feature by swiping left on the main timeline. Twitter is slowly launching this feature for all its users, so if you’re not able to see this feature yet, you’ll need to wait a little longer. The latest feature will allow users to take photos, videos, and even video podcast and use hashtags to post it live. However, you cannot upload an image from your saved files, you’ll need to take fresh pics to post it.

Japan to Launch AI Controlled On-Demand Bus Service, Will It Transform Public Transportation?
Japan is years ahead in technology from the rest of the world. Now, two companies, Mitsubishi and the Nishi-Nippon Railroad Company have launched a joint venture Next Mobility that will serve the public with its AI controlled on-demand bus service. The service will run as a trial for a year. The AI will help to reduce the congestion and pollution in Japan by better route management of its bus services. Increase in efficiency will bring down costs to the country as well. Nissan is one of the sponsors of this latest AI initiative.
