Google adds ‘Duet AI’ feature to Google Meet & Workplace Apps

At its annual Cloud Next Conference on Tuesday, Google announced handful of AI features for its Google Meet platform. One of the important AI features being Duet AI, which can perform many useful tasks on behalf of Google Meet participants. This includes taking notes in real-time during the meeting, creating a summary of the meeting including the key takeaways and talking to Google chatbot in private to get details of the meeting. Not only this, you can even ask chatbot to attend a meeting on your behalf in case if you’re not able to make it. Duet AI feature will also be made available in Workspace apps like Gmail and Google Drive.

Google launches new tool to detect AI-generated images

Google on Tuesday launched a new tool called SynthID, which can detect and authenticate AI-generated images. It will do this by embedding a unique identifier into the pixels of an AI-generated image. This identifier is designed to be completely imperceptible to the human eye, but it can be detected by software. This will eventually help in many useful purposes like combating the spread of deepfakes and other forms of misinformation. Additionally, it can be used to authenticate AI-generated images, especially those used in creative applications or research purposes. Over all, it will make AI images more secure and reliable. However, this tool is still in beta stage.

Apple announces ‘Wonderlust’ Event’ date, iPhone 15 lineup to be launched

Apple has announced the date for its special event called “Wonderlust” that will take place on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Apple is expected to announce several product lineups during this event, including iPhone 15 lineup and Apple Watch Series 9. The iPhone 15 model that will be unveiled during the event includes iPhone 15 Mini, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The pro models are expected to get a camera upgrade with iPhone 15 Pro Max expected to boost periscope zoom lens that will allow for 5x and 6x optical zoom. Additionally, Apple is expected to announce new MacBook Air and new iPad pro during the event.

OpenAI on course to generate $1 Bn revenue

ChatGPT maker OpenAI’s annual revenue is on course to surpass $1 Bn revenue in the next 12 months, according to a report by The Information. This is a huge bump from the company’s previous revenue projections, which stood at $200 Mn. The company’s revenue growth is being driven by increased demand for its AI software, including its paid subscription plans ChatGPT Plus. The company had also recently launched another paid subscription plan called ChatGPT Enterprise to further boost its revenue growth. OpenAI’s revenue growth is also likely to get a helping hand from Microsoft, which had invested $10 Bn in the AI company in January this year.

WhatsApp launches new app for Mac Users with extra features

WhatsApp has launched a new app for Mac users. This new app is currently available for download on WhatsApp’s official website and will be available on the App store pretty soon. The new WhatsApp app for Mac comes with several new features. These includes group video calls with up to 8 people, group audio calls with up to 32 people, file sharing, Incoming call notifications and ability to drag and drop files into chats. These and other features are designed to make it easier for users to communicate with friends and family on their Mac computers and laptops.
