Google pushes the launch of Gemini AI to next year

Google has pushed the launch date of Gemini AI to next year. Sources closed to the affair cited Geimini’s constant struggle with non-English queries as the main reason for delaying its launch. If sources are to be believed then Gemini AI’s launch event was scheduled for next week. Considering how important Gemini AI is for Google, the search engine giant probably wants to make it as perfect as possible before its launch. As and when Ge mini AI is launched, it is supposed to enhance the capabilities of Google’s AI products including its AI chatbot Bard, whose performance has been found to be somewhat unimpressive as compared to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

The launch of OpenAI’s GPT store has been delayed

OpenAI’s GPT Store, which was initially planned to launch in late 2023, has been delayed to early 2024. OpenAI said in an email addressed to the developer that “unexpected things have been keeping us busy,” eventually pushing back the GPT rollout. However, sources close to matter claim that while technical challenges and safety & security issues are holding the launch, the recent fiasco surrounding the sacking of Sam Altman may have also caused the delay. By the way, this news will come as a disappointment for developers who were eagerly waiting to build and share their own custom GPTs. GPT store was teased for the first time at OpenAI’s developer conference in November. GPT store will be launched as online marketplace where users could create, share, and buy custom versions of ChatGPT.

In a rather surprising turn of events, Amazon and c, two fierce competitors in the satellite internet race, have joined hands. Amazon has just announced a deal with SpaceX to launch a portion of its Project Kuiper internet satellites using the Falcon 9 rocket. As per the blogpost on Amazon, the contract has been signed for the launch of three satellites and the launch has been officially scheduled in mid-2025. Since Amazon still does not have its own indigenous rock launcher, it probably had no option but to opt for SpaceX to launch its satellite. Besides, when it comes to pace and reliability, Falcon 9 is one of the reliable rocket launchers out there.
