Google’s AI Powered Photo search makes its official debut for select users
Gone are the days when you had to search for photos on your Android phones only by searching particular people, location or thing. Google’s new AI powered photo search, ‘Ask Photos,’ which was unveiled at this year’s Google I/O event, will completely redefine the way we search Google photos. It basically allows users to search for Google Photos by using descriptive and long queries. For instance, you can search for “photos from a National Museum that you had recently visited” or you can simply enter the query “kayaking on a lake surrounded by mountains.” Whenever you insert a descriptive query, ‘Ask Photos’ will use its AI capabilities to scan the photos in your Google photo repository and bring the accurate photo search results for you. However, mind you, this feature has been currently rolled out only for limited users in the US.

Google launches Android 15 in Beta, will be available on Pixel Phones in coming weeks
Google has finally rolled out the source code of Android 15 through its Android Open-Source Project, which would allow developers to test and customize Android’s newest operating system. While Pixel users will have to barely wait for weeks for getting a peak into Android 15, other compatible devices like Samsung, Nothing, One Plus and Motorola may have to wait for months. Android’s latest OS system comes with slew of new features including single-tap-passkeys, theft detection and ability to limit app access. It will also offer quite a few AI features including a new update to TalkBack screen reader that will enable it to provide audio description for images with the help of Google’s Gemini Ai assistant.

YouTube Teen’s accounts is getting new parental feature
Parents will now have better insight into their teenage son or daughter’s activities on the YouTube platform. That’s because the popular video sharing platform is bringing a new parental control feature that would allow parents to link their Google account with their teen’s YouTube account. Once connected, they will get an overview about the teen’s activities, including the number of uploads, subscriptions and comments on the YouTube channel. They will also receive email notification whenever their teens upload new content or livestream any event, additionally they can also set specific limits or restrictions on their teen’s YouTube experience. The Google owned platform has assured that this new parental control feature won’t affect what content its algorithm shows to teens.

OpenAI claims its paid subscribers reached a new milestone
OpenAI has claimed that its paid subscribers, who pay for ChatGPT’s paid version Enterprise, Team & Edu, has reached 1 million mark. This is a quantum jump from the 6,00,000 subscribers that the company had posted in April this year. The company further revealed to tech news portal Venture Beat that major chunk of its paid subscribers come from non-US markets like UK, Japan and Germany. These numbers have been revealed barely 24 hours after OpenAI’s rival Anthropic launched its maiden enterprise plan, which offers 5,00,000 token context windows along with enterprise-grade security control among other features. Anthropic is backed by Google and Amazon.

CRM giant Salesforce has acquired Own, which is based in New Jersey and provides data management as well as data security solutions to companies, for $ 1.9 Bn. What is great about this deal is that it is a 100% cash transaction deal and is also Salesforce’s biggest acquisition since acquiring Slack in 2021 for nearly $27 Bn. The acquisition will help Salesforce in ramping up its data security solution, which today has become a critical requirement for companies. Own was launched in 2015, back then it was known as OwnBackup. It created a niche for itself by offering wide-range of enterprise focused data backup tools.
