Google’s AI powered search ‘AI Overviews’ expanded to six more countries

Now more countries can access Google’s AI enriched search ‘AI Overviews,’ which is designed to answer complex search queries in rich overview format on top of the traditional search results. Expanding beyond the US, it will now be available in six new countries including India, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Indonesia and the United Kingdom. It will be available in English as well as local languages of the respective countries. Google launched AI Overviews in response to the growing threat to its domination in the search market, with OpenAI’s recently launched ‘SearchGPT’ and ‘Prexility’ trying hard to challenge Google’s invincibility in the online search market.

Grok-2 is now available in beta, powered with image generation

The second version of the AI chatbot Grok has been launched in beta and now comes with AI image generation capabilities. Currently, only X Premium and Premium+ users can access it. Accompanying Grok 2 is another AI model called Grok 2 mini, which is supposedly small yet capable model that can seamlessly balance speed and answer quality. Grok 2’s image generation has been powered by Flex.1 model, which has been created by AI startup Black Forest Labs. The most controversial part of the image generation feature is that it can even create images of real people including politicians, raising concerns about copyright and deepfake problem.

Google’s latest AI image generator ‘Imagen 3’ is now publicly available in US

Imagen 3, Google’s most advanced and powerful AI image generator till date, is now more widely available to people in the US. The tool is available on Google’s ImageFX platform, according to Venture Beat. This marks a significant expansion of Imagen 3, which until now was available to only limited Vertex AI users. Google has also published a detailed research paper about this tool. Like all other AI image generation tool, it enables users to generate images through simple text prompts. However, being a advanced tool, its image generation qualities are more sharp, detailed and realistic.

In an attempt to make Threads a viable competitor to ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), Meta has been continuously adding to its newly launched microblogging platform. Continuing with its pursuit, it has now added ‘Analytics’ along with other new features. Analytics will provide key performance metrics about your Threads post including reach, likes, comments and shares. This will primarily help content creators in understanding their audience engagement and make data driven decisions. Additionally, Threads is also announcing ‘post drafting’ and ‘post scheduling’ features. Post draft will help users to save unfinished Threads posts while scheduling will help in publishing the post in specific time and date.
