A silicon valley based Saas startup Narvar Inc has acquired the Bengaluru headquartered logistic startup GoPigeon for an undisclosed amount. GoPigeon’s largest investor Nexus Venture Partners will become a shareholder in Narvar Inc following this deal. Additionally, GoPigeon’s top management including CEO Deovrat Singh and the entire engineering team will join Narvar after all the necessary due processes are completed.
Following the team integration, GoPigeon’s team will help Narvar in consolidating its operations in the fast-growing Asia-Pacific e-commerce market and in other critical markets.
GoPigeon was incorporated by IIT Kharagpur alumni Deovrat Singh, Yeshu Singh, and Sourav Sarkar. The aim of the startup was to offer end-to-end logistics solution to companies across the board, with e-commerce companies being itd primary focus. The company received its first ever funding almost one year later after Nexus Venture agreed to invest $1.5-million in pre-series A round.
But many analysts claim that the startup failed to make the desired impact, partly owing to sudden funding crunch in the Indian startup ecosystem and also due to ongoing consolidation in the e commerce sector.
On the other hand, Narvar was founded in 2012 by an Indian NRI Amit Sharma. The startup has so far managed to raise $34 million through various rounds led by various investors, including Accel Partners and Battery Ventures.
Narvar aims to redefine customer’s post purchase experience, claiming that customer’s post purchase experience is often less satisfactory and even sometimes traumatic. The startup believes that it can help companies to strengthen brand loyalty among their targeted customers by revolutionizing the post purchase experience. It claims to serve nearly 400 clients in the United States.
