Hackers steal more than $25 Mn of Cryptocurrency

Hackers have managed to steal more than $25 Mn of cryptocurrency from two leading digital currency platforms – Uniswap exchange and the Lendf.me. The massive hacking attack took place over the weekend, with early investigation clearly suggesting that attacks on two separate platforms are actually co-related; clearly indicating that these attacks may have been carried out by same set of hackers. Hackers brought a special misfortune for Chinese based Lendf.me, which had reportedly raised fresh funds from investors barely few days back. More importantly, this fresh hacking attack is likely to bring more bad press for cryptocurrency.

Facebook all set to launch a gaming app

Social media giant Facebook is all set to launch a gaming app that mainly focuses on online streaming community. With this launch, Facebook will take on some of the big tech companies including Google’s Youtube, Amazon’s Twitch and Microsoft’s mixer services.  Initially, the company was planning to launch the app in June but the ongoing Pandemic compelled them to prepone the launch.  Now the social media behemoth will be launching the app on April 20th, barely few hours from now.

In Australia, Facebook and Google can no longer share news content for free

In Australia, the freebie party is almost over for Facebook and Google as soon to be launched code of conduct will force these players to pay for the news content. According to ABC, both tech giants henceforth will have to pay to Australian media houses for sharing their news content on their platforms. This development will probably spell bad news for both tech giants as it may encourage other countries to introduce similar code of conducts. Facebook and Google basically curate news (that are owned by other news publications) on their platforms and earns millions of revenue from it.

IT outsourcing giant Cognizant confirms ransomware attack

Cognizant, one of the biggest names in the IT consultancy world, has confirmed that it was recently hit by ransomware attack. However, the details of the attack continue to remain obscure with the company only confirming that the incident has caused disruption for some clients. The company further said that its internal security team is working devotedly to contain this attack.

Created by Instagram’s co-founders – Kevin Systrom & Mike Krieger – this all new COVID-19 website offers detail of state-by-state spread of coronavirus across the U.S. This website known by the URL, RT.live, will supposedly add another handy arsenal in America’s weaponry to fight coronavirus.
