Starting from today all iPhone users in the US and other global markets will get to experience Apple’s newest and latest software update IOS 18. However, Apple’s much hyped-up AI feature suite, dubbed as Apple Intelligence, won’t be released with IOS 18. Instead it will be launched with IOS 18.1. Talking about the features then IOS 18 comes with many exciting features like ability to rearrange apps and widgets on home screen, customizable app icons, revamped control center, smart search, RCS support and standalone password app.  Kindly note that older iPhone models, mostly models that are predecessors to iPhone 11, won’t be able to download IOS 18.

Runway debuts API for its Gen 3 Alpha Turbo Model

Runway, one of the leading AI videos generating platforms, announced on Wednesday that it is launching API of its latest Gen 3 Alpha Turbo Model to developers and enterprises. This basically implies that starting from today developers and enterprises will be able to create their own apps and products on the top of Runway Gen 3 Alpha Turbo Model. However, its API is still not publicly available. Developers will have to sing up for the waitlist. In another interesting development, just hours after Runway made its API available, its fiercest rival Luma AI also announced that its API, the Dream Machine API, will be available to developers and enterprises from today.

Microsoft Copilot launches slew of new AI features

Microsoft on Monday announced Copilot Wave 2, which brings handful of new AI features for all its business clients. Some of its standalone feature includes Copilot pages and AI agents. Copilot pages aim to redefine document creation by offering real-time suggestions, summaries and even generate entire new text paragraph with text prompts. AI agents, on other hand, is designed to automate mundane tasks like answering question and offering context relevant information. Another notable feature includes Narrative Builder in power point that helps in creating engaging content. Other features include using AI for generating formulas and data visualization in Excel and using AI to leverage Python in excel. All these new Copilot features were announced in a virtual event that was hosed by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and was livestreamed on LinkedIn.

Slack can now create transcripts from Huddle by using AI

Salesforce, which had acquired Slack few years back, has rolled out new AI capabilities in its business centric chat application. It has integrated AI into Slack huddles to automatically generate transcripts from huddles. Slack AI will generate transcripts by leveraging the real-time audio and messages from the thread. This is a pretty handy feature for all the team members. It can help in ensuring that everyone is on the same page, reducing misunderstanding and improving decision making. Additionally, it can help in improving accountability and knowledge sharing among the team members.
