iPhone Wont Make or Receive Calls but can Text: How to Fix

If you’re like me, you’ve been there. You’ve got your brand new iPhone, and everything is working great. But then, all of a sudden, your iPhone won’t make or receive calls but can text! Before you freak out, there are a few things you can try to fix this problem. In this blog post, I’ll share with you some of the things that have worked for me in the past. Hopefully one of them will work for you too!

Why your iPhone might not be making or receiving calls, but can text

Your iPhone might not be making or receiving calls because of a software or hardware issue. If you see “No Service” in the status bar of your iPhone, open Settings and turn on Airplane Mode, then turn it off after a few seconds. If you see a message that says ” Cellular Update Failed,” your carrier might be temporarily unavailable. Try again later.

If your iPhone won’t make or receive calls, but can text, there might be an issue with the cellular network that your iPhone is trying to connect to. If you’re in an area with low or patchy coverage, try moving to a different location. You can also try resetting the network settings on your iPhone:

  1. Open Settings and tap “General.”
  2. Tap “Reset.”
  3. Tap “Reset Network Settings.”
  4. Enter your passcode if prompted, then tap “Reset Network Settings” to confirm.
  5. If you’re still having trouble, contact your carrier for more help.

How to troubleshoot your iPhone if it’s not making or receiving calls

If you’re having trouble making or receiving calls on your iPhone, there are a few things you can try to fix the problem. First, make sure your iPhone has service. If you’re not getting a cellular data connection, or if you can’t connect to your cellular network, check the coverage in your area with the carrier. And, If there is no problem with the coverage in your area, then try restarting your iPhone. If that doesn’t work, try resetting your network settings. You can do this by going to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. Finally, if none of these solutions work, you may need to restore your iPhone from a backup.

Possible causes for your iPhone not making or receiving calls

There are a few things that could be causing your iPhone not to make or receive calls. Here are some possible causes and how to fix them:

Your iPhone has no service.

If you see “No Service” in the status bar of your iPhone, learn what to do.

Do Not Disturb is on.

If you see a moon icon in the status bar of your iPhone, Do Not Disturb is on. To turn off Do Not Disturb, go to Settings > Do Not Disturb.

Airplane mode is on.

If the Airplane Mode icon shows in the status bar of your iPhone, tap it to turn Airplane Mode off. To turn Airplane Mode off using Control Center, swipe up from the bottom edge of any screen and tap the Airplane Mode icon . If you can’t find Control Center, go to Settings > Control Center and make sure that Access Within Apps is turned on.

Your iPhone is turned off or needs to be charged.

Press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo appear on your screen, then release the button. If you can’t see the Apple logo or if the logo isn’t appearing after you press and hold both buttons for about 10 seconds, connect your device to a power outlet using a Lightning cable or earlier iPhone model dock connector cable and try again after it begins charging (you might see a lightning bolt next to the battery icon).

How to fix your iPhone if it’s not making or receiving calls

If your iPhone won’t make or receive calls, but can text, there are a few potential causes. One common cause is that there is no service where you are. If you’re in an area with weak or no cellular coverage, your phone won’t be able to connect to the network and make or receive calls. Another possibility is that Airplane mode is turned on. When Airplane mode is on, you can’t make or receive calls, but you can use other data services such as text messaging and email. If neither of these is the problem, your iPhone might be having trouble connecting to your carrier’s cellular network. If this is the case, try turning off and then onCellular Data or LTE in the Settings app. You can also try resetting your iPhone’s connection to your carrier’s network by turning off and then onAirplane mode, or by turning off and then on Airplane mode in the Settings app.

Tips to prevent your iPhone from not making or receiving calls in the future

Here are some tips to prevent your iPhone from not making or receiving calls in the future:

  • Keep your software up to date: Make sure you have the latest version of iOS installed on your iPhone. To check for updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

  • Reset your network settings: If you’re still having trouble after checking for carrier updates, try resetting your network settings. This will reset all of your cellular and Wi-Fi settings; however, it won’t delete any of your data. To reset your network settings, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

How to troubleshoot your iPhone if it’s not making or receiving calls

If your iPhone is having trouble making or receiving calls, there are a few things you can try to fix the problem. First, make sure that your iPhone has service. If you see “No Service” in the status bar, you may need to contact your carrier to make sure your account is active and set up correctly.

If your iPhone has service but is still not making or receiving calls, try restarting your phone. And, If that doesn’t work, try resetting your network settings. To do this, go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. This will erase all of your Wi-Fi passwords and other network settings, so you’ll need to set them up again after doing this.

If resetting your network settings doesn’t fix the problem, the next thing to try is restoring your iPhone from a backup. This will erase all of the data on your iPhone, so be sure to back it up first! To do this, connect your iPhone to iTunes and select “Restore from Backup.” Choose the most recent backup file and wait for the process to finish.

If none of these steps fix the problem, you may need to contact Apple support or take your iPhone to an Apple Store for further diagnosis.
