It is official: Bard is now Gemini, brings new AI Premium plan

As rumoured, Google has finally rebranded its AI chatbot Bard as Gemini. Google opted for rebranding probably because Many users felt that the old name Bard sounded pretty boring and it should be replaced. The tech giant also said that it will soon launch a standalone Gemini app for Android users. It, however, did not mention about launching a Gemini app for IOS users. In another big announcement, Gemini’s paid plan, known as Gemini Advanced, has also been launched. Gemini Advanced will be powered by a powerful LLM and will come with many extra functionalities and features. After a 2-month free trial, users will have to pay $20 per month for using Gemini Advanced.

WWE signs deal with ‘X’ to Stream 5 minutes Wrestling Matches

There is a great news for die-hard WWE fans. WWE has just inked a deal with Elon Musk’s platform X that will give X the exclusive right to stream high-paced timed matches. Called WWE Speed, these high-paced timed matches are supposed to be completed in five minutes or less. X said that this new format of WWE matches will start streaming on its platform in this year’s spring season. The matches will be played and it will feature some of the biggest WWE stars. This announcement comes barely weeks after WWE signed a $5 Bn deal with Netflix that gave Netflix the right to stream WWE RAW matches starting from 2025.

Tesla sold just one electric car in South Korea in January  

In a surprising revelation, Tesla managed to sell only one car in South Korea in January. The one and lone car that got sold was Model Y SUV. The dramatic decline in sales in South Korea could be attributed to several reasons, including concerns about Chinese-made vehicles among Korean consumers. It is a well-known fact that today Tesla cars are manufactured in China’s Shanghai factory. However, many Korean consumers harbour negative perceptions about the quality and safety of vehicles manufactured in China. Besides, the lack of charging infrastructure coupled with slowdown in South Korea’s EV has equally contributed to dramatic downfall in Tesla’s sales. Last but not least, the growing competition in the EV market is also giving serious headache to Elon Musk’s Tesla.

OpenAI developing software that can take control of your computer

According to unconfirmed reports published in the news portal The Information, OpenAI might be developing a  software that will have the capability to take complete control over a user’s computer for completing complex tasks. These complex tasks could include web-based tasks like gathering data about companies, creating itineraries, or booking flights. However, It’s crucial to remember that this software is reportedly still in an early stage of development. There’s no guarantee that it will actually be released or function as described. Like most AI companies, OpenAI also emphasizes research and development of various AI technologies, not necessarily all leading to public products.
