Microsoft SharePoint 2010 has got some UI enhancements as it now has ribbon UI interface.
Microsoft SharePoint 2010, the business collaboration platform for enterprises and web is yet another Microsoft Office 2010 application suite that offers couple of enhancements, although market expectations were higher than what has been delivered.
Microsoft SharePoint 2010 has got some UI enhancement, better interoperability support with other CMS and couple of other features as well.
Although SharePoint is already stuffed with many features, latest features and enhancements have been briefly elaborated below :

1. Ribbon interface
Microsoft SharePoint 2010 features a “Web-based Ribbon control”, which makes it look more like other flagship Office applications such as Microsoft Word 2010 or Microsoft Excel 2010. As most of the Office applications are now with Ribbon UI, this feature hasn’t been a reason for excitement.
2. Greater use of Silverlight controls
As Silverlight is Microsoft’s own product, the compatibility and use of Silverlight controls in SharePoint 2010 will be much better than earlier.
3. Support 0f CMIS
Content Management Interoperability Services support will allow interoperability between SharePoint 2010 and other content management systems.
4. Site management and customization
Sites can be administered and managed by content management system in SharePoint 2010.
5. Business Intelligence and Business Connectivity Services
SharePoint 2010 also enables business Intelligence and business connectivity services through its web application platform.
Most of the features offered under SharePoint 2010[Server] are now being offered as a service in the name of Microsoft Office 365, which is much more cost-effective as it can be bought on a requirement basis on a monthly subscription.
