Restaurant Solution Startup Mobikon Raises $7 Mn in Series B Funding

Mobikon raises Series B funding.

Restaurant solution provider Mobikon has managed to rake up $7 Mn in a Series B funding led by various high profile VC firms including Sistema Asia Fund, C31 Ventures, and Qualgro. The funding also saw participation from existing investors Spring Singapore and Jungle Ventures.

Mobikon will be using the funds to further consolidate its operations in existing markets like India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Besides, the startup will use part of the serial B funding to start operations in the UK and Australia by January next year.

Mobikon was established by Samir Khadepaun in 2012 as a platform to provide comprehensive solutions for restaurant business. Its flagship product mEngage serves a single dashboard with rich analytic data that enables owners to market their restaurants through deeper customer engagement and real time alerts.

The startup has so far managed to gather around $12 million through various rounds of funding. It received undisclosed amount in seed funding in the first year of its operation (2012), followed by a $5 million serial A funding led by various VC firms in 2015. These funds apparently helped the Pune based startup in taking up the acquisition route for achieving faster growth. It lapped up Singapore-based Triibe in 2015 and the next year it acquired Mumbai-based social and marketing solutions provider MassBlurb.

Currently, Mobikon claims to provide solutions to over 700 restaurants and 3,400 food outlets across the world. As per the startup, some of its clientele includes renowned and reputed restaurants in UAE, Singapore and India.
