Music AI Startup Suno says nothing wrong in using ‘copyrighted music’ for training AI model
On Thursday Music AI startup Suno responded to the lawsuit filed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), which had accused Suno of training its AI model on copyrighted music that was owned by the record companies like Universal Music and Sony. However, The Music AI startup sounded far from being apologetic in its response. Suno’s CEO Mikey Shulman published a blog post on the same day as court filing, claiming that training its AI model on copyrighted music that is openly available on the internet is absolutely fair deal. He compared this scenario with a kid who trying learn music from publicly available music on internet. In meanwhile, RIAA hasn’t responded kindly to this response. It said in its official statement that AI music companies like Suno and Udio have indulged in industrial scale infringement and this does not qualify for fair deal.

Stability AI launches ‘Stable Fast 3D’ to speed up 3D image generation
Stability AI on Thursday launched a new AI model that that could prove to be a serious game changer for 3D image generation, which otherwise takes lot time and effort to generate. Its new AI model Stable Fast 3 can create high-quality 3D images in an astonishing 0.3 seconds. Compared to the previous model Stable Video 3D (released in March) took nearly 10 minutes to generate 3D image. Stability AI further claims that Stable Fast 3’s incredible speed does not come at the cost of quality since it is able to deliver detailed and accurate 3D model. This new model is openly available for developers on Hugging Face and through Stability AI API.

Twitter App disappears from the App Store
The Twitter app is now nowhere to be found in the Mac App Store, strongly indicating the fact that the app may have been delisted from the App Store. This means currently Mac users can access ‘X’ only through the web version. It is still not clear whether X wants to completely remove the Twitter app from the Mac app altogether. It is also openly known that the Twitter’s Mac app had too many bugs and users often complained about it. The app has also not received any major update during the last one year. When Musk rebranded Twitter to ‘X’ the rebranding of the app took place across all platform except the Mac app. All these clearly hints that the Twitter app is unlikely to make a comeback in the App store.

GitHub launches GitHub Models to give Developers easy access to Generative AI
GitHub has announced the launch of a new initiative called GitHub Models that will bring all the popular large language models and image models under one roof; this include models like Llama 3.1, OpenAI’s GPT-4o, Mistral Large 3, Microsoft PHI-3 and more. This means now developers don’t have to jump between a lot of sites and create multiple accounts just to experiment with different AI models. Additionally, through this model, developers can also share their experiment and insight with the entire community, fostering sharing of knowledge and accelerating innoviation. Lastly, GitHub’s integration with Microsoft Azure also means that it will become much easier for developers to deploy their AI applications.
