Netflix brings more offline content with automatic download feature

Starting today streaming giant Netflix will be adding its offline content catalogue by rolling out the ‘automatic download feature.’ When this news feature is activated, the Netflix app will download the customized TV shows and movies to your mobile device. The download will be customized as per your Netflix watch history.

Lightspeed Venture, one of the prominent VC funds, has witnessed the departure of its COO David Baga

Lightspeed Ventures is one of the prominent players in the global VC industry and over the years it has developed strong footprint in several countries including India. It has now witnessed departure of its COO David Baga. Baga, who had joined Lightspeed in 2019, will be joining Even – a on demand pay startup.  Baga will be the new CEO of the startup.

TikTok’s crusade against eating disorder

Chinese video sharing platform TikTok has decided to give a helping hand to curb misinformation on overeating.  For this, the platform has partnered with National Eating Disorder Association or NEDA. It must be noted that in the past TikTok had made similar attempts to curb misinformation on over-eating but achieved little success.

Byju’s competitor Vedantu is the latest player to join the acquisition party in India’s edtech sector. The Pune based edtech startup has acquired doubt solving app Instasolv for undisclosed amount. The latest development comes amid news that market leader Byju’s is making aggressive bidding to buy big players in India’s edtech space, which has already set the ball rolling for consolidation in the online education sector.

To build a TikTok rival, Twitter tinkered with a plan to acquire India’s ShareChat

 With a bold pursuit to compete with TikTok on a global scale, Twitter was recently in talks to acquire India’s new age media startup ShareChat. Twitter is already an existing investor in ShareChat and such a move should not come as a surprise. Last year, to fill TikTok’s vacuum in India ShareChat launched the Moj app, which has achieved overwhelming success among Indian users.
