Nvidia unveils Slew of AI Products including a new Supercomputer

Nvidia is taking a big bet on artificial intelligence after the chipmaker unveiled a wide-range of AI products at its annual Computex event in Taiwan. This includes a couple of supercomputers that will be mainly used for generative AI or training big AI models. One of its AI supercomputers called DGX GH200 is expected to be used by some of the big tech companies. The other AI oriented products unveiled by the company include GForce RTX 4080 Ti GPU and Nvidia Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE) for Games, both of which will help in giving a more immersive experience to the gamers. Incidentally, Nvidia has become the darling of the investors with its stock rising as much as 170% and its market cap touching $1 trillion.

Elon Musk may visit China, likely to meet top Government Officials

Elon Musk may visit to Mainland China this week in what would be tech billionaire’s first visit to the country during the last three years. Although Musk’s China itinerary is not publicly known, he is expected to meet top government officials including Chinese Premier Li Qiang. He is most certainly likely to visit Tesla’s Shanghai plant, which has already submitted plans to expand plant’s manufacturing capacity. Musk’s tentative visit to China comes at a time when Tesla’s sales in China have flattened up due to intense competition from local Chinese EV manufacturers including BYD. China is apparently Tesla’s biggest market outside the U.S.

Apple to kill its Free Photo Saving Feature

Apple has announced that its free photo synching service ‘My Photo Stream’ will permanently shut down on 26th July 2023. This service was quite popular with Apple users since this service has been available since the release of iCloud in 2011. It allowed Apple users to save images and videos in more than one device. Notably, any photo or videos uploaded before the D day of 26th July will remain in iCloud for 30 days since the upload date.

Xiaomi to manufacture Wireless audio products in India

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, which is one of the dominant smartphone players in India, has now entered India’s burgeoning audio market. The Chinese tech company has partnered with Optiemus – a leading electronic manufacturer – to make develop wireless audio products in India. Optiemus will develop these audio products in its Noida facility in Uttar Pradesh. However, Xiaomi hasn’t revealed when it plans to launch its first ever audio product in the market. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer was recently in news when its offices across India was raided by income tax authorities.

Ambani’s Jio strikes Content Streaming deal with NBC Universal

Jio Cinema, the streaming platform of telecom major Reliance Jio, has signed a multi-year partnership deal with NBC Universal Media. Following this agreement, Jio will be able to add many Hollywood and American TV show titles including popular TV shows like ‘Downton Abbey’ ‘Suits’ and ‘The Office.’ This deal comes barely a month after Jio signed a content streaming deal with Warner Brothers, which gave the former streaming rights of sensational hits like Games of Thornes in the South Asian territory. Jio getting hold of so many hit shows and movies should ring the alarm bell for global streaming players like Netflix and Disney Plus Hotsar.
