Chipmaker Nvidia and French AI startup Mistral on Thursday jointly announced the launch of a new AI model called ‘Mistral-NeMo.’ It promises to bring powerful AI capabilities directly to business desktops without the need for extensive cloud resources. It boasts 12 billion parameters and expansive 1,28,000 token context window, positioning itself as smaller a model with powerful capabilities. This AI model marks a first collaboration between Nvidia and mistral. It will be launched under Apache 2.0 license.

Meta is suspending its generative AI tools in Brazil
Meta has decided to temporarily shut down all its generative AI operations in Brazil. This decision comes after Brazil’s watchdog National Data Protection Authority (NDPA) decided to suspend with immediate effect the validity of Meta’s new privacy policy, which mandated the use of personal data of Brazilian citizens for training its generative artificial intelligence system. Meta has hinted that while its AI operations will be suspended it will continue to hold talks with NDPA to resolve the issue.
