OpenAI launches GPT4 Turbo, its most powerful AI till date (and it is damn cheap)

 

At its first ever developer conference, OpenAI launched GPT-4 Turbo. GPT-4 Turbo is a more powerful and capable version of company’s flagship AI model GPT-4. It provides larger context window of 128,000 tokens, which will allow it to process and generate more complex and nuanced responses. Besides, GPT-4 Turbo’s knowledge cut off is till April 2023 making it more up-to-date and informed. GPT-4 Turbo will come in two versions. First version only strictly analyses the text and second version understand the context of both image as well as text. GPT-4 Turbo will be priced at $0.01 per 1,000 input tokens and $0.03 per 1,000 output tokens.

Now you can create your own version of ChatGPT

OpenAI announced a new Custom GPT platform at its first-ever developer conference on Monday. The GPT platform will allow developers to build their own custom GPT models. Custom GPT models can be trained on any dataset of text or code, and can be used to perform a wide range of tasks. ChatGPT customers can start creating GPT models by accessing the GPT store, which the OpenAI plans to launch soon. However, GPT models will be available to only ChatGPT plus subscribers and OpenAI enterprise customers. OpenAI has also promised that it will pay the GPT creators if their GPT models get good traction and response.

YouTube is testing Chatbot for Videos and AI powered Comment Summaries

YouTube is currently testing two new experimental generative AI features. An AI-generated comment summaries and a chatbot that answers your questions about what you’re watching.

The features are currently only available to YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States on Android devices. The AI generated comment summaries will organize comments into “easily digestible themes.” This can be helpful for finding specific comments or understanding the overall sentiment of the comments section.

The Chatbot, on other hand, will allow you to ask questions about the video you’re watching or choose a suggested prompt like “recommend related content.” Although these two features are still in beta-testing phase, they have the potential to make YouTube a more engaging platform.

WhatsApp may soon get email verification feature for login

WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature that allows users to log in to their accounts by using email in addition to their phone number. The feature is currently only available to beta testers on Android and iOS, but it is expected to be rolled out to all users in the near future. To use the email verification feature, users will need to add their email address to their WhatsApp account and verify it. However, it must be noted that WhatsApp is not discarding the primary login method, which basically involves a 6 digit code being sent to your registered mobile number. The email verification feature will be a completely optional feature.

WeWork files for bankruptcy

Office sharing company WeWork has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in New Jersey federal court. The bankruptcy filling is limited to WeWork’s location in US and Canada, the company announced in the press release. The Softbank backed WeWork, which was valued at staggering $47 Bn, has been on a freefall after its failed IPO in October 2019. Although the company did try to make a comeback, its efforts did yield not desired results as the company was plagued with huge loss and debt. Overall, WeWork’s bankruptcy is a major blow to the coworking industry and to the company’s investors.
