OpenAI updates Realtime API with five new voices

OpenAI on Wednesday announced a major update for its real-time API by adding five new voices that developers can use for developing applications. The company demonstrated three of these voices – Ash, Verse and Ballad – on its official X handle. Kindly note that OpenAI’s Realtime API is still in public beta, which means developers cannot get client-side authentication. To increase the accessibility of its real-time API, ChatGPT’s parent company has significantly reduced its cost. Audio input will be charged approximately $0.06 ($100 per million tokens) and audio output costing approximately $0.24 per minute.

Pika has launched new updates to Pika 1.5 by adding three new Halloween-themed videos – levitate, eye pop and decapitate. These three new effects add special effects that align with Halloween aesthetics, allowing creators to add a festive touch to their videos. Pika users can start using these effects from today itself. Based in Palo Alto, California, Pika is one of the most well-known text-to-video generation platforms. Till date, it has raised more than $100 Mn funds from several investors.

Nintendo has launched a new music streaming app for Switch Online Subscribers

While Nintendo fans are desperately waiting for its next console, the gaming company launched something that took everyone by surprise. It has launched a music streaming app called Nintendo Music. The Nintendo Music app will allow users to enjoy classic and popular gaming tunes from Nintendo Games including Splatoon, Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda. However, mind you, this music streaming app will be available only to Switch online subscribers. The app will feature a curated playlists catering to different games and popular characters, though users can customize the playlist the way they want. The app is available on both IOS and Android.

Boston Dynamics’ Altas Robot is now capable of picking car parts

Boston Dynamics’ humanoid robots over the years have gained immense popularity, thanks to the several viral videos. Now Boston Dynamics has just uploaded another video that again has the potential to go viral. In the latest video, Atlas robot is shown picking and moving the car parts. The great thing is that it can do this task without any human intervention, displaying a great improvement in its thinking ability and also robotic dexterity. This is in sharp contrast to Tesla’s Optimus Robots, which still needs human intervention despite the claim that it is 100% autonomous. Altas Robot’s latest advancement can spell good news especially for the manufacturing sector that is increasingly looking to reduce its overwhelming dependence on human laborers for cutting its cost as well as to increase its productivity.
