Pegasus Spyware used to spy on journalists and activists across the world

A shocking investigation has found that top governments in the world have been using Pegasus Spyware to spy the smartphones of their adversaries. Among the adversaries, journalists and human right activists tops the list. Investigation report claims that reporters hailing from top media houses like The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg News and al Jazeera have been targets of this spy operation. Pegasus Spyware is owned by the Israeli company NSO Group Technologies. The software is capable of hacking smartphones and getting illegal access to voice calls & messages.

Video conferencing giant Zoom said on Sunday that it is all set to acquire cloud software provider Five9 for nearly $14.7 Bn. Facebook counters Biden’s Accusation of ‘vaccine misinformation’

Facebook has published a strongly worded blog to counter US President Biden’s scathing allegation that it is literally killing people by not doing enough to control vaccine misinformation. In a blog titled ‘moving past the finger pointing,’ Facebook has said that it has seen an impressive rise in vaccine acceptance among its users. The social media giant has claimed that its positive role hasn’t been duly appreciated and the responsibility of controlling  vaccine misinformation lies with the entire society.

Security flaws in Telegram app ‘fixed,’ company claims

Last week, Telegram users were in for a big shock when a group of researchers found a security issue in Telegram app. This invariably made the app prone to hacking and data breach, researchers claimed. The sensational revelation came as an embarrassment for Telegram that always claimed that its encryption is stronger than Whatsapp and claimed to be a perfect alternative to the latter. However, Telegram now claims that this security lapse has now been fixed and its app is 100% safe to use.

According to Money Control, American private equity major Blackstone is in talks to acquire majority stake in Indian edtech startup Simplilearn. The report claims that Blackstone is in the last stage of negotiation to acquire Simplilearn and announcement of the deal can be made anytime soon. This development comes barely months after Blackstone offloaded its stake in Akash tutorials to Byju’s.
