SpaceX kicks off Polaris Dawn Mission for attempting first ever commercial spacewalk

On Tuesday early morning, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket was launched from Kennedy space center, Florida. The launch kicked off Polaris Dawn, the most daring and ambitious space mission by SpaceX till date. It aims for two historic milestones among other things. First is a spacewalk by astronauts, which will be a first-ever spacewalk by a private and commercial space crew. Second is the mission of attaining and reaching highest earth orbit ever, placing SpaceX’s Dragon 1,400 Km above the earth. No space mission has travelled so high ever since the completion of the Apollo programme over 50 years ago. The Polaris Dawn mission will last for five days. If this historic mission is successful, this will be a major feather in the cap of Elon Musk’s space company and a confidence booster for its highly ambitious inter-planetary mission.

Sony on Tuesday finally launched its much talked about PS5 Pro gaming console, which promises to improve your gaming experience by quite a few notches. It is obviously built with a superior hardware than its predecessor PS5 that was launched in 2020. It comes with a much larger and powerful GPU, faster Ram, advanced ray tracing and several AI driven features. Another notable feature is a game best tool that will enhance the performance of more than 8,500 backward compatible PS4 games. However, play station fans will have to dig really deep into their pockets for enjoying a superior gaming experience promised by PS5 Pro. It has been priced at whopping $700.

Huawei launches world’s first triple folding phone, priced at eye-watering $2800

Barely hours after Apple launched its much-anticipated iPhone 16, Chinese tech giant Huawei launched its own new smartphone, which is first of its kind in the smartphone industry. Huawei’s Mate XT is the world’s first triple fold phone, which has been priced at eye-popping $2800, making it one of the most expensive phones in the market. Huawei claimed it worked tirelessly for five years to achieve technology and design breakthrough for making world’s first triple fold phone. However, this phone currently will be available for sale only in China, where it will go on sale from September 20. It is highly unlikely that Huawei’s Mate XT will arrive in the US markets, considering that US government has placed a ban on Huawei’s operation and sale in the US.

IOS 18 is releasing on September 16  

At the special iPhone 16 launch event on Monday, Apple announced that IOS 18 will be available as a free download from September. However, as is the case with all IOS updates, older iPhone models, which are mostly predecessors of iPhone 11, won’t be compatible for IOS 18. At the heart of IOS 18 update is Apple Intelligence, which offers a suite of advanced AI features. Other notable features include improved messaging app, organized photo library and personalized home screen layout.
