Tesla sued by owners for false & exaggerated advertising
Tesla has been sued by three California owners who have accused the EV maker of allegedly exaggerating the estimated driving ranges of its electric vehicles. These owners have alleged that the company’s range estimates are often found to be exaggerated and the company has tried to silence customers who have tried to complain. They have cited a recent Reuters report that claimed Tesla’s range estimates were often up to 10% lower than the actual range of the vehicles. The report further claimed that Tesla created a ‘division team’ whose only aim is to downplay customers repeated complaints about lower range.

Removing private information from ‘Google’ now becomes much easier
Google has rolled out a fresh update for its “results about you” feature, which was launched in September last year. With this fresh update, browsers can find their private information on Google without even conducting a search. Google will now send out notifications to users when it finds their address, phone numbers or email on webpages, allowing them to review and request their removal if they find the information is inaccurate and false. As of now, this update has been released only in the U.S. Overall, this update will make the process of finding and removing your personal information from Google a lot easier.

Microsoft goof up: Secret Windows 11 features get accidentally leaked
Microsoft recently accidentally leaked internal tool called “Staging Tool.” The leak was discovered on August 2, 2023 before it was removed by Google. The ‘Staging Tool’ is a command-line tool that allows users to enable features that are not yet publicly released. According to reports, some of the features that got leaked due to leaking of this internal tool included features like a new taskbar design with a centered clock, a new file explorer and new gaming dashboard. However, none of these features are fully functional or may even contain bug or problems.

Meta’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses flops
According to The Wall Street Journal report, Meta’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses – launched nearly two years back – has turned out to be a massive flop. The report claims that over 90 percent of consumers who bought Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses have stopped using them. Citing Meta’s internal document, the Wall Street Journal report claimed that only around 27,000 of the 300,000 units sold between September 2021 and February 2023 are being used regularly. Priced at $299, these smart glasses allowed users to take photos and videos, listen to music and calls, and share content directly to your social media channels

Apple’s iPhone Sale continues to Slump
Apple on Thursday released a third quarter result, showing yet another drop in the sale of iPhone, which is Apple’s biggest money-making device. iPhone sale dropped by 2.4% with total sale standing at $39.7 Bn. This is the third straight quarter that has seen a drop in the sale of iPhone. Apple has admitted that the smartphone market is going through a slowdown, particularly in the U.S, contributing to slower growth. However, Apple’s service business witnessed a handsome growth, with the company posting $21.21 Bn revenue from its service business.
