To compete with Google, OpenAI converts ChatGPT in Search Engine

According to Venture Beat, OpenAI has transformed its AI chatbot ChatGPT into a search engine. However, this will be a beta feature that will be available to only paying subscribers before expanding it to free subscribers. Until now, OpenAI’s experimental search engine SearchGPT operated as a separate engine. But now with search engine features integrating with ChatGPT, ChatGPT users can ask questions and get real-time information on slew of topics like current affairs, sports, stock and more. ChatGPT’s search feature will perform similar to Prexility AI, using natural language technology to deliver curated answers to queries with clear link attributions.

Nvidia again overtakes Apple to become the world’s most valuable

The chipmaker Nvidia on Tuesday overtook Apple for the second time during the last three months to become the world’s most valuable company. By the end of Tuesday’s trading, Nvidia was valued at $3.43 trillion, leaving behind Apple’s valuation of $3.38 trillion. The last time Jensen Huang led company achieved this milestone was in June. There is every possibility that Apple may very soon topple Nvidia from its top position. That said, there cannot be any debate over the fact that Nvidia has become the darling of the investors with its AI chips witnessing unparalleled demand. Its cutting-edge AI chips have become the underlying technology that is powering the most advanced LLM projects run by the big tech companies.

The Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine is now fully operational

The Internet Archive, which suffered a DDOS attack in October, has taken a major stride in its recovery process after announcing that its ‘Save Page Now’ service has been fully restored to the Wayback Machine. The Internet Archive said in its X post that its Wayback Machine will start collecting web pages that have been archived since October 9, that’s exactly the day when The Internet Archive suffered the DDOS attack and the entire site had to be taken down. Although the website resumed its operation on October 14 but it was only in read-only-mode.

Nintendo’s next-gen console will play Switch games

Nintendo has officially confirmed that its upcoming successor to the Switch, often referred to as the “Switch 2,” will feature backward compatibility with existing Nintendo Switch games. This announcement was made by Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa during the company’s Corporate Management Policy Briefing on November 6, 2024. Furukawa stated, “Nintendo Switch software will also be playable on the successor to Nintendo Switch,” indicating that players will be able to enjoy their current library of games on the new console. In addition to backward compatibility, the successor will support Nintendo Switch Online, allowing users to carry over their cloud saves and access a variety of classic titles from platforms like NES, SNES, and Game Boy
