Twitter is shutting down Fleets

Twitter’s Fleets is all set to disappear, alas permanently. The microblogging giant has officially announced that its Fleets feature will not be available from August 3rd. Twitter has cited ‘low adoption’ by users as a reason for shutting down the feature. The Company had launched ‘Fleets’ feature with lot of fanfare in November last year. The feature allowed users to create tweets that would invariably disappear after 24 hours.

Clubhouse launches direct messaging feature

Social audio platform Clubhouse has rolled out its direct messaging feature called Blackchannel. This feature will be available for both IOS and Android users. The company said that this latest DM feature will allow moderators to chat among themselves during an active room. Clubhouse’s recent competitors like Facebook live audio rooms and Twitter Spaces also allow DM feature.

Whatsapp has started beta testing multiple device support, which potentially means that you can soon start using Whatsapp on your desktop PC with any support from Phone. Until now, using Whatsapp on any device including desktop PC required the support of mobile phone. But if Whatsapp succeeds in this beta testing then users may soon get to enjoy the instant messaging app hassle freely on all devices.
