Twitter starts beta testing its voice-based chat ‘Spaces’

As early as last month, Twitter had announced that it will soon start testing audio only chat rooms. Now this soon to be launched feature has now got a name called ‘Spaces.’ This new feature will be available only for select number of users. It is pretty clear that Twitter is testing audio based social networking. This concept is certainly nascent and faces many prominent challenges including censorship and moderation issues. This is actually not the first time that Twitter is testing such a feature. In the past,  the microblogging had tested a smiliar features called ClubHouse.

Google faces fresh lawsuit for its alleged anti-competitive behavior

A collation of 38 state in the United States have come together to file a fresh antitrust lawsuit against Google. This is third major lawsuit filed against the search engine giant in year 2020. The latest lawsuit has been filed by Colorado and Nebraska states.  The latest anti-trust lawsuit accuses Google of designing its search engine in a way that benefits company’s own product over those of its competitors. There already have been talks of breaking-up web browser Chrome from Google in a quest to control its supposed anti-trust behavior.  Google, of course, is not the only big tech company facing anti-trust lawsuits. Facebook and Apple are also facing anti-trust lawsuits.

Microsoft rings alarm over SolarWinds Orion Hacking, terms it as Unprecedented Hacking

Microsoft President Brad Smith has warned that Russian based hacker is currently in the process of hacking SolarWinds Orion platform. Additionally, Smith went on to warn that the hacking could prove to be highly dangerous and large in scale. He further claimed that the hacking could cause serious technological vulnerabilities for India as well as the world. WhatsApp to soon stop working on older iPhones and Android Phones

From January 2021, WhatsApp will stop supporting devices that are older than IOS 9 and Android 4.0.3. This means that users using older version than of IOS 9 and Android 4.0.3 will have to upgrade higher version if they want continued access to WhatsApp.  The Facebook-owned instant messaging giant said that this is part of its drive to comply with its latest security updates.
