Twitter to soon roll out Video App for Smart TVs

Twitter is planning to launch a video app for Smart TVs in the coming months. Elon Musk confirmed this news through a tweet. The app, which is still in beta testing, will allow users to watch live and on-demand video content from Twitter, including sports, news, and entertainment. Additionally, it will allow users to interact with other Twitter users and participate in live conversations. In 2022, Twitter reported that 80% of its users watched video on the platform, and that video accounted for 70% of its engagement.

Intel to invest $25 Bn to build Chip Factory in Israel

Chipmaker intel has announced that it will invest whooping $25 billion to build a new chip factory in Israel. This will be largest ever FDI in Israel’s history. The factory will produce chips for a variety of uses, including data centers, artificial intelligence, and self-driving cars. The factory will be located in the Israeli town Kiryat Gat and is scheduled to open in 2027. Once factory becomes operational, it is expected to create 10,000 jobs. Meanwhile, Intel has also announced that it will be investing $4.6 billion in new chip plant in Poland.

Sony Bravia TV to Support Zoom Calls

Sony Bravia TV owners can soon take Zoom calls right from their couch. That’s because the Zoom for TV app will be soon available on Google Play Store. The app will allow users to make and receive Zoom calls, share their screen, and collaborate with others. To use the app, users will need to purchase a $200 Bravia Cam, which is a small camera that attaches to the top of the TV. Sony Bravia TVs will be the first TV in the market to support the upcoming Zoom for TV app.

Binance exits Netherlands amid growing Regulatory Challenges

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced that it will be exiting the Netherlands. This after the crypto exchange failed to obtain a license from the Dutch Central Bank. Binance has been operating in the Netherlands since 2019 without a full-fledge license. Nearly two years back, the Dutch Central Bank had fined the company nearly 3 Mn euros for providing crypto service without a proper license. Binance’s exit from the Netherlands marks yet another major regulatory setback for the company. Currently, Binance has locked horns with regulators in several countries including United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan.

Mercedes-Benz to bring ChatGPT features into its Luxury Cars

German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will be integrating ChatGPT features into selected car models in the U.S. Currently available in beta testing phase, the ChatGPT will be used to power Mercedes-Benz’s AI voice assistant “Hey Mercedes.” With ChatGPT integration, Mercedes is hopeful that this would allow drivers to control their features more efficiently including climate control, navigation, and entertainment system. ChatGPT will also be able to answer questions about the car, such as its fuel level, tire pressure, and maintenance schedule.
