WhatsApp service restored after two hour outage

Services of the Instant messaging app WhatsApp has been fully restored after the app witnessed probably its biggest ever downtime in its entire history. The two hour outage that started during early hours on Tuesday affected users across the world. WhatsApp users complained on Twitter that they were finding it difficult in sending or receiving messages. Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, also confirmed the outage and said that the engineers were working round the clock to fully restore the services. However, despite the report that the services are fully back, users in some parts of the world may have to wait bit longer before the service hits normalcy.

Apple to cut down the production of iPhone 14’s Base Model

According to market research firm TrendForce, Apple has decided to cut down the production of iPhone 14 Plus, which is the base model of the newly launched iPhone . TrendForce has claimed that Apple took this decision due to lukewarm response it is getting for iPhone 14 Plus. However, the tech giant has decided to increase the production of the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro series. The company will be reportedly increasing production to 60% as opposed to 50% as it was initially decided. The production can even touch 65%, the report further claimed. But Apple has so far refused to comment on the report.

Meta’s investors want to company to spend less on Metaverse

Altimeter Capital, one of the largest stakeholders in Meta, has written an open letter to the company that it needs to curb its spending on its much hyped up Metaverse technology. Altimeter Capital’s Chairperson and CEO Brad Gerstner has categorically said that the company need to bring down the spending from the current $10 Bn to $5 Bn per year. The open letter further suggested that the social media giant must reduce its headcount expenses by 20%. All these steps will help the Mark Zuckerberg led company in getting back its mojo, the letter claimed. Meta’s stock has been on a downward spiral since several months.

Amazon denies link with religious conversion in Northeast

Earlier this week Amazon India faced flaks on Twitter for allegedly funding evangelical organization that is knowing for converting poor children to Christianity in the Northeastern region. As a fallout of this allegation,  Amazon India’s head Amit Agarwal has also been summoned by The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. Amazon India, however, has completely denied these allegations. The company said that it has no link whatsoever with the aforementioned organization and is a completely law abiding company.

Nothing will soon launch its first Physical Store

Carl Pei’s Nothing, which unveiled its first ever smartphone earlier this year, will be launching its first ever physical store in London. The store will be launched just before Christmas. The announcement comes just days before Carl Pei’s company plans to unveil its latest pair of earbuds Ear Stick. Nothing, just like Carl Pei’s previous company OnePlus, has the ambition to compete with Apple’s iPhone but without burning a hole in the consumer’s pocket.
