White House Openly endorses TikTok Ban in U.S
The White House on Tuesday openly threw its weight behind a new bipartisan senate bill that will allow the Biden administration to levy nationwide ban on TikTok in the U.S. The U.S National Security Advisor ‘Jake Sullivan’ said in a statement “today the threat that everyone is talking about is TikTok and how it could enable surveillance by the Chinese Communist Party.” Sullivan further urged that Congress should now quickly pass the bill, which it would make it into a law before it is signed by the President Joe Biden. Although TikTok’s parent company Bytedance has always denied the allegation that it is carrying out the surveillance on behalf of China’s Communist government, the Biden administration and the American media at large continue to see TikTok with a suspicious lens.

Salesforce to Integrate ChatGPT into Slack
Salesforce has become the latest tech giant to join the ChatGPT bandwagon. The CRM giant announced on Tuesday it has entered into agreement with OpenAI to add its chat sensation ChatGPT into its collaborative work software Slack. Salesforce said that its proprietary AI will combine with OpenAI that will enable Slack to perform several business tasks including generating email drafts, customer account information and computer code. Additionally, Slack will also use ChatGPT to help users summarize conversation threads and handle other queries. This move is yet another about the mad race amongst the technology companies in adopting generative AI for their respective platforms. Generative AI can produce instant text, images and other contents by inferring inputs from past data.

Elon Musk apologies for Mocking a laid-off Employee (Here’s why)
Twitter’s Founder and CEO Elon Musk received lot of flaks and criticism for mocking a former disabled employee Haraldur Thorleifsson. The two had entered an ugly spat over Thorleifsson’s work and payout. While there was nothing wrong about Musk quizzing about an ex-employee’s work, the tech billionaire took things bit far away by questioning Haraldur’s disability. Haraldur, who is known as Halli on Twitter, suffers from muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair. Halli obviously did not take Musk’s word kindly and took a dig at Twitter’s new boss over carrying security guards to toilets despite being physically fit. Musk later tendered the apology to Haraldur on Twitter.

Messenger is returning back to Facebook app after nine years
Remember Messenger, the integrated message service on Facebook. The dedicated message service is making a comeback on Facebook after total nine years of gap. Facebook and Messenger first split in 2014 with CEO Mark Zuckerberg assuring back then that having messenger as a dedicated app will pave for a better user experience for the users. But Facebook is now all set to undo this and Messenger is on its way back. However, Messenger’s integration is still in testing phase and it may take weeks or even months before the full-fledge integration takes place.
