Like everything else, even traveling and recreation is heavily tilted towards men. In order to break this ruthless domination, a unique startup like WoVoyage was founded by Rashmi Chadha in 2016. WoVoyage is a travel startup dedicated to only women. This unique travel startup on Monday raised undisclosed amount from two angel investors based in Singapore.
These two investors are Shabir Momin and Rohit Nanda, according to a statement issued by the company.
WoVoyage will use the fund infusion for further expanding it services and products to help in serving the women travel better & efficiently. This includes booking services, search and planning platforms, on-demand travel and recommendation sites.
WoVoyage’s real aim is to create risk-free and carefree tour for all the female travellers out there. The company arranges female tour guides and also designs complete tour package including several recreational activities like photography, rejuvenation, yoga, trekking, cycling etc.
WoVoyage currently offers operations in India and Japan.
Modern women want to travel & explore world
With education and strong sense of independence growing rapidly among young women, today large percentage of women have developed a strong desire to travel and explore the world. Several surveys claim that most women want to travel in group, but there is equally no dearth of women who want to explore the world all alone.
The purpose of indulging in an all women travel can be many; escaping from mundane & boring routine to coping with a bad marriage. Surveys have also found that many women want to indulge in all women travel only for excitement and change.
Meanwhile, quite a few travel startups have managed to raise funds during last few months. This includes online travel marketplace TripShelf and holiday packages marketplace TravelTriangle. Mihuru Pvt. Ltd, a startup offering small loans for air travel, also recently raised funds.
