As the world braces for the post lockdown period, Uber is all set to make sweeping changes in its ride-hailing and food delivery apps. These changes will come into force in the US and most other countries on coming Monday (i.e. May 18th). These changes are mainly catered at stopping the growth of coronavirus. The changes include online checklist of all users, limiting number of passengers in vehicles and face mask verification for drivers.

Top two members of Google Pixel team, Marc Levoy and Mario Queiroz, have exited from the company.  The news was first broken by The Information. Levoy was an important member of Pixel’s imaging team and Queiroz was the officially number 2 of the company. The exit of high-profile employees sums up Google Pixel’s failure to seize market share in the over-crowded smartphone market. Despite good reviews, Google Pixel’s sales continue to remain flat as people still clamor for Samsung and Chinese smartphones.

U.S claims China-based hackers trying to steal Coronavirus research data

U.S has warned that China-based hackers are trying to break into American companies carrying out research into Coronavirus. The FBI and Department of Homeland Security have issued a joint statement regarding this and has asked them to remain on their toes against hackers. This development has come just days after the reports emerged that Iranian linked hackers are targeting an American pharmaceutical company involved in making vaccines for COVID-19.

Tesla employees not following Musk’s ‘return to work’ orders may lose unemployment benefits

Tesla employees refusing to come back to work in Tesla factory at Alameda county could lose their unemployment benefits. This was stated in an internal email sent by Tesla’s HR head Valerie Workman, according to media reports. Last week, Tesla’s founder and CEO Elon Musk had a public spat with Alameda County, after warning them of defying their work from home orders and starting the Tesla factory. He even dared the Alameda County officials to take legal actions against the company for defying the orders.

Huawei’s US ban extended till May 2021

Huawei’s trouble with the White house continues after the US government extended the ban on the Chinese phonemaker till May 2021. As per this ban, US companies are prohibited from working and buying telecommunication equipment’s from Huawei due to national security concerns.
