YouTube is currently testing a feature that will allow content creators to use Google Gemini for brainstorming video ideas along with ideas for titles and thumbnails. YouTube Studio had very recently launched AI powered Inspiration tab that also help creators in sourcing new video ideas. Nonetheless, YouTube would still most likely to offer Gemini integration as it could prove to be more feature rich and could do better hands-on job. It has been observed that YouTubers often go to Gemini’s rival ChatGPT for brainstorming YouTube Video ideas; a practice that Google would love to stop and offer its own AI tool for creators for ideation process.

OpenAI silently launches GPT-4o update with a lower price tag: Report

According to reports, OpenAI has rolled out an updated version of its GPT-4o language model and also slashed its price by nearly 50%. However, this news is yet to be confirmed by OpenAI. That said, it won’t be an unsurprising move either considering that OpenAI would be more than eager to show to the world that its new flagship model is better than Anthropic’s recently launched Sonnet 3.5 and Llama 3. Bindu Reddy, CEO of Abacaus AI, claimed in a X post GPT-4o’s updated version now sits only tad below Sonnet 3.5 on Livebench, which is recently developed benchmark for LLM models.

ByteDance unveils its text-to-video AI platform Jimeng AI

A new player has joined the highly competitive video AI race. Faceu Technology, owned by TikTok’s parent company ByteDance, has launched Jimeng AI. Jimeng AI can generate high quality videos with simple text prompts, positioning itself as a direct competitor to OpenAI’s Sora, Runway and Pika. Currently, only people living in China can access Jimeng AI, which is reportedly available on IOS as well as Android. It is available at 69 yuan for monthly subscription and 659 yuan annually. Jimeng AI also joins scores of Chinese players who have entered the video AI space in recent months. This includes Kuaishou – one of the largest Chinese video apps – and Ying launched by Chinese AI startup Zhipu AI.

Meta shuts down its VR gaming studio Ready at Dawn

It was nearly a year ago that Meta had acquired VR gaming studio Ready at Dawn with the hope that it will help in denting the VR gaming space. However, Meta on Thursday announced that it is shutting down the studio. This actually should not come as a big surprise as Meta had announced in its mid-July report that it would cutting down its Reality Labs Division’s budget by almost 20% by 2026. Ready at Dawn was the gaming studio that was behind the popular Echo virtual reality series for the Meta Quest. It is actually a decade old company, having launched its first game called Dexter way back in 2006.

X is inching closer to launch its payment service: Report

The rumours of X working on payment services has been doing rounds for quite some time now. And as per the latest report from TechCrunch, X is getting closers in launching its payment service, which will help in materializing Elon Musk’s vision of turning its app into ‘everything app.’ Well known app researcher Nima Owji has revealed to TechCrunch that X is planning to add payment button to the navigation bar under the bookmarks tab. He further claimed that X’s payment button will have features like ‘transactions’ ‘balance’ and ‘transfer.’ The ‘payment service’ is largely seen as X’s attempt to minimize its monetization burden on Advertising and search for an alternate monetization source.
