Online stock trading platform Zerodha faced an outage issue on Wednesday, with customers repeatedly complaining that Zerodha’s console is working utterly slowly. Many customers also complained that they have been unable to access their accounts.
Zerodha’s outage issue seems to have eventually ballooned as it was one of the main trending topics on Twitter. Scores of customers of the Mumbai based online trading major flocked to Twitter to complain about the issue.
What was the reason for outage?
Zerodha’s outage seems to have occurred due to the frenetic rush among the investors to subscribe to Indigo Paints IPO. Indigo Paints IPO was one of the most awaited IPOs of 2021. The demand for Indigo Paints IPO was so huge that it got subscribed within just few hours. Zerodha’s co-founder & CEO Nithin Kamath also cited ‘Indigo Paints IPO’ as the main reason for today’s outage while talking to Economic Times.
